Peach Season…

by DanWolgemuth on August 26, 2011

“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good…” ~ Luke 6:43-44 (ESV)

I always thought that peaches were a Midwest fruit. I’ve enjoyed many great peaches from Michigan, and consequently I underestimated the quality of what might be grown in Colorado. Enter Palisade peaches.

The west central region of Colorado is the perfect environment for peaches. They flourish in this valley area, even at an elevation of nearly 5,000 feet.

Palisade peaches are wonderful because of Palisade peach trees. These trees quite simply deliver on the reason they were created. They don’t have to be coached, coerced, threatened, or manipulated… they just have to be nourished and protected. Fabulous peaches are what they were made for.

As branches that abide in Jesus we were made to produce good fruit. Fruit that refreshes, that nourishes, that delights, that astounds, that delivers, that reflects… the very purpose of our existence.

Fruit is mysterious. Wood, leaves, roots, chemicals, light, water, nutrients… all working together to produce something beautiful and sweet.

Fruit is mysterious. Pain, experience, study, preparation, disappointment, relationships, failures, discouragement, joy, loss, and sacrifice… all working together to produce something beautiful and sweet.

Out of the good treasure of the heart. Out of the soil of my soul. Out of the transformation of my root system.

Fruit. Much fruit. Good fruit. Godly fruit.

Because it’s a Palisade peach… because I’m a part of the vine.

Dear Carla,

Online I found a contact in Palisade from whom you can order fresh peaches. Here’s the link:

Hope this is helpful.
