MOAO

These four letters will follow the “To:” on the presents that I wrap and address for Mary. They represent a promise and a celebration.

My One and Only.

Corny? Cheesy? Maybe…

But in these letters I embrace a calling, I surrender to the commitment I made, I acknowledge the singular love… the letters say “Yes” over and over again.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 ESV)

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us). (Matthew 1:23 ESV)

For to us a child is born,
               to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
          Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  (Isaiah 9:6 ESV)

The letters spell Jesus… but in them there is a powerful promise… in them is revealed the heart and compassion and hope of God.

When God sent His one and only son, the letters mattered… His name told a story… His commitment and love leaked right onto the birth certificate. Jesus.

Immanuel.
God living and walking and breathing and loving… with us.
Wonderful Counselor.
Mighty God.
Everlasting Father.
Prince of Peace.

Our One and Only.

What a wonderful name. What a hope-filled string of letters. These letters say “Yes” over and over again.

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him (Jesus). That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.  (2 Corinthians 1:20 ESV)

Jesus.

Merry Christmas.  Our Amen to God for His glory.
